Supa Gaeta releases arguably one of the best Ghanaian rap projects of this decade.

Two years after dropping his last project that has garnered over 5 million streams across all digital music streaming platforms, Ghanaian genre-bending artist Supa Gaeta is here again with another full length LP. Adroitly titled ‘Road to DND,’ he describes it as a precursor to a bigger album coming soon.

On his previous EP before this, Supa Gaeta delved into a different pocket as he curated six songs that swayed towards the Afrobeats and Alternative Music genre. Surprisingly, ‘Road to DND’ is packed with Hiphop anthems that echo the presence of the ‘old’ Supa Gaeta. Let’s check out each song.

The album commences with a 2-part track ‘Amazing/My Lane,’ which features singer and producer Nii Amu. On here, Supa Gaeta, with the help of Nii Amu canvasses the issue of duality. They both rap about how so-called friends act like they are cool with you, but are actually not.

On track 2 the message is simple: if you’re not talking money they want no part in the conversation. And by they I mean Supa Gaeta, along with Delis and Kojo Trip who brought equally fire verses.

Next up is the Moorsound produced ‘Fed Up’ featuring BRYAN THE MENSAH and Marince Omario. This song is basically every Ghanaian’s mood right now with the current state of affairs. That BRYAN THE MENSAH verse is enough to warrant him two guest verses on this project. And don’t get me started with Marince. It’s perplexing how he’s able to approach his delivery with such a calm demeanor but still exert his authority on a song. This song is definitely a fan favorite.

Track 4 seems to carry the same momentum as the previous. This time around Supa Gaeta is asking all those who offer advice without any substance to ‘Shut Up.’ He sets it up nicely for Yung Pabi and BRYAN THE MENSAH to hit the point further home.

Track 5, ‘Working,’ features Arathejay. He currently happens to be one of the most exciting voices in Ghana at the moment. Another proponent of incorporating the Highlife sauce in other Western genres.

The ‘Crazy Trade Interlude’ lives up to the adjective in the track title. Almost two and a half minutes of impeccable flow and rap. Was it deliberate no one was credited for that? Probably Supa Gaeta has an ace up his sleeves.

Lastly, he assembles a star-studded lineup of Tradey, Kwame Yesu and Kirani Ayat to trade pure rap bars over more than 4 minutes.

It comes as no surprise that this particular LP rose up to be the number one album across all genres in Ghana just two days after its release. This is a clear attestation to the fact that this remarkable album has been a long time in the making. All things being equal, ‘Road to DND’ would go down as one of the best rap projects to drop in this new decade.
