South African rapper AKA, vows to come after everyone who “stole” from him.

This assertion comes right after the rapper’s win against South African TV broadcast company SABC1, over his claim of part ownership of one of their flagship programs, “The Braai Show.” The first season of the show which aired in May, 2020 saw AKA as the host, but his colleague rapper and “sworn enemy,” Cassper Nyovest, took over as the host for the second season which started airing September, 2021.

At the time the second season was announced, AKA made it clear he wasn’t consulted though he is a part owner of the franchise. This claim was later disputed by the broadcast company and Cassper Nyovest himself. According to an arbitrary ruling by the South African courts, it has been established that, AKA is indeed a part-owner of the franchise.

Because of this, he’s moving forward to request and conduct an audit of all the contracts pertaining to “every single entity, being a person, broadcaster, production house and those who benefitted through incidental/free exposure.”
