“My own song, I heard it for the first time at Reggie’s office.” – Sarkodie on his hit song “U go kill me.”

Sarkodie in an interview, caught up with Spotify to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of his sophomore album, “Rapperholic.” The Ghanaian rapper was quizzed on how the standout hit “U go kill me,” which featured fellow Ghanaian rapper, singer, and producer, E.L came about.

According to him, he never heard the song after E.L did the hook for it. The song was apparently leaked and till this day, the latter hasn’t come clean on it. Sarkodie in the interview can be heard saying, “My own song, I heard the first time at Reggie’s office. That’s like one of the biggest clubs, at that time. I was in a club and my own song dropped, and people were running from a car park into the club.” He said when the song later became a hit without running any promotion for it, he had to go back and learn the lyrics so he can be able to perform it. Looking back, Sarkodie says it has taught him that, “you’re not always sure what is really going be the next big thing.”
