Olamide announces the end of an era.

2022 might be the last time we ever see a new Olamide album. The Nigerian rapper/label boss took to popular micro-blogging site Twitter, on Saturday afternoon 5th February to announce that, he’ll be dropping the final album of his 11-year illustrious career the year.

The album, which has “Unruly” as its working title would be his 10th solo album. In addition to his solo albums, he’s produced a joint album with fellow Nigerian rapper Phyno, a compilation with his YBNL label imprint, and a solo EP. According to the rapper, real name; Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, this new album is 95% done but he’s taking his time to “make it the best ever.”

It is likely the rapper arrived at this decision so he can focus on running his YBNL label, which in recent times has been responsible for breaking out renowned Afrobeats artistes and producers like Adekunle Gold, Fireboy, Young John, Pheelz, P.Priime and others.

Though this would be his final album, he promises to drop singles occasionally. We look forward to seeing what this next chapter in his career has in store.
