KayMad makes a grand re-entry to music with ‘Meridian Baby: Black.’

Tema-based rapper KayMad is back with new flavorful music and he calls this ‘Meridian Baby: BLACK.’

The 4-song E.P. according to him, is a reboot from his hiatus since the release of his last single ‘Justice.’ The artist likens the new sound to that of his contemporaries currently making waves in the West-African music space and describes this piece as his theme music, seeking to make a grand entrance onto the greater African music scene with the aim of projecting the sound globally.

‘Meridian Baby: BLACK’ is a fine selection of classic world music, a refreshing blend of Hip-Life, Afrobeat, Rap and High-Life, as one sound of Ghananian origin. These songs are purely inspired by love, enjoyment and growth. The project presents itself as a fresh run with the induction of refined, well composed and easy listening music that is perfectly curated for your listening pleasure.

The title, Meridian Baby, is a stylish twist to ‘Tema Born’ and was chosen to reference the legacy of Tema, the town popular for birthing some of Ghana’s greatest music exports like Sarkodie and R2Bees; and to properly place KayMad as a product of that legacy. BLACK is also a color theme adopted to mark this release as the first of many other Meridian Baby projects yet to be released.

The E.P. features breakout star and radio queen, SYYA BULLY on ‘Kasa’and ‘Pzeefire’ on Ɔdɔ: two very outstanding records on this piece accompanied by ‘Go Like’ and ‘Saa Ara’ which are the artiste’s solo appearances on the project. Instrumentation for ‘Kasa’ and ‘Saa Ara’ are credited to ProdByAmuari and both songs are engineered by WebieJustDidit who is fully credited for producing ‘Go Like.’ ‘Ɔdɔ’ on the other hand  is produced by his long-time friend and collaborator NixieOfficivl.
